Glenview - Staff

John Ward PGA Professional & Facility Manager

Hometown: Shreveport, Louisiana

I recently joined The Villages team after working over 11 years in the Florida Panhandle as Vice President of Golf and Club Activities for Resort Collection in Panama City Beach, FL and General Manager of Burnt Pine Golf Club at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, FL. Originally from Louisiana, I was employed as Head Golf Professional at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport, LA and General Manager of Palmetto Country Club in Benton, LA.

I have been a PGA member since 1993 and enjoy spending time with my wife Lisa and our 20lbs. "miniature" dachshund. We have two children currently enrolled at UCF majoring in Hospitality Management.

I first learned of The Villages when my father and I were on a golf trip to Orlando. My father was thinking of retiring so I suggested we should stop by and see what The Villages had to offer. Upon arrival we were amazed by the beauty and friendly atmosphere throughout the property. Needless to say, my father and step-mother soon became year round residents of The Villages and I am thankful to have followed.

Steve Trout Assistant Manager - Inside

Hometown: Alton, Illinois

My wife Sue and I moved to The Villages in June 2001. Prior to moving to The Villages, I worked 35 years for Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in various states as Quality Assurance Manager. Started working for the Golf Division of the Villages in Feb. 2002 at the Aqua Range and 2 months later transferred to Glenview Champions Country Club. We have 2 boys, both PGA Golf Professionals and 5 grandchildren. People, location, and a country club atmosphere here at Glenview make this job very enjoyable.

Sue Monk Assistant Manager - Inside

Hometown: Reno, Nevada

I moved to The Villages in 2004 from Reno, Nevada when I retired from Washoe County as a Programmer/Analyst. I enjoy golf, kayaking, biking, and our rescued Boston Terrier “Otis”. I love working for GMS and have been so since 2005!

Rick Kleindienst Assistant Manager - Hybrid

Hometown: Stratford, Connecticut

Rick and his wife Priscilla moved to The Villages in January 2010 from Stratford, Connecticut. Prior to moving to The Villages Rick was Manager of Emergency Management for the Yale New Haven Health System, New Haven Connecticut for 8 years. Before that he was the Executive Director of the Southwestern Regional Communications Center for 18 years which provides fire and EMS dispatching to 14 municipalities in southwestern Connecticut. Rick has been an emergency medical technician for 34 years which includes 25 years as an advanced life support technician. He is also an American Heart Association CPR Instructor. He was also the Program Director for the Sumter County Medical Reserve Corps which is sponsored by the Sumter County Health Department.

Rick and Priscilla have four sons and seven grandchildren. They both love to play golf and enjoy outside activities (12 months a year) which was the driving force why they moved to The Villages. Not having to shovel snow or scrape ice also played a big part in their decision process. Rick and Priscilla live in the Village of Hadley with Bandit, their three year old golden retriever.

Barry D. Wythe Assistant Manager - Outside

Hometown: Egg Harbor Township, NJ

Barry and his wife, Maureen, moved fulltime to The Villages in April 2013 from Egg Harbor Township in southern New Jersey where they resided all our lives and raised their two children. Their children and younger grandchildren still live in South Jersey, while their eldest grandson is serving in the Pacific Fleet of the U.S. Navy.

Barry retired from Law Enforcement as a Detective Lieutenant in 2005 from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Special Prosecutions Section Commander and later served as the Administrative Chief for the Sheriff, Office of Professional Responsibility. Maureen held a verity of retail and wholesale positions while caring for their family.

Prior to retiring to The Villages, Barry and Maureen often visited family here and have watched the community grow from CR466 south. They enjoy the evening town square entertainment and country rides on their Harley Davidson. While golf was huge in deciding to move to The Villages, it was the cleanliness, shopping and dining convenience, and active adult living that proved to be the major factor.

Barry has been a Team Member at Glenview Champions Course since September 2014. During his tenure at Glenview he has worked every outside position and gained insight into the day to day operations of the Outside Staff that he uses to ensure a most enjoyable golf experience for residents and guests.
