Posting Scores
The USGA system requires that every member report all acceptable scores for handicap calculation personally, or as otherwise authorized by the committee, as soon as possible after the round is played. Scores may be posted at any of the computer stations located in the golf shop of each championship course. Although not the preferred method, but an acceptable avenue is to post scores via the internet. There are three websites you can access to do so; TheVillages.Net, FSGA.org or GHIN.com. The golf shop teams are trained to be of assistance if needed. Any posting errors should be immediately reported to one of the golf shop personnel for correction.
Handicap Committee Notice
The following events will be posted as Tournament Scores:
- Club Championships
- Village Cup Qualifiers
- Village Golf Championship
- Resident Cup Qualifiers
- Champion's Championship
- Super Seniors Men's Championship
No match play events will be posted as a Tournament "T" score. Any violation of the spirit of the USGA Handicap System should be reported to one of the handicap committee members or one of the Championship Courses Golf Professionals or managers for reference to the committee for action. Resolution of Handicap matters is not the function of the Golf Professional or their staff but of the Handicap Committee.
Failure to Return Scores
In team events, such as two-man best ball, individual scores must be turned in for handicap purposes according to the USGA Handicap Manual. Such events are commonly played among individual groups as well as organized events such as men's or ladies' day, Village or Resident Cup Qualifiers. The Village Handicap Committee has adopted the following policy: Failure to return an individual score from a team event will result in the posting of a score to your handicap record equal to the lowest differential score in your last twenty scores.
