VEGIS
We have received several calls from residents regarding the VEGIS handicap system and website. Following is our view of VEGIS:
VEGIS is in no way affiliated with The Villages or Villages Golf Operations.
VEGIS is a program and website created by a resident of The Villages to establish handicaps on the executive courses, and The Villages Golf Operations do not recognize VEGIS handicaps as “official handicaps” and/or as USGA handicaps.
Although, we note that the method used to create these handicaps, in our opinion, is reasonably accurate, but due to some limiting factors, is open to subjectivity.
The Villages Golf Operations endorses this site in so far as it is a site that provides an outlet for the recreational golfer who is looking to track their scores, and create a “non-official” handicap to use within their own foursomes or groups.
