Ladies Club Champion

Sue Severn

Sue, who is originally from Yorkshire, England, moved with her husband to The Villages in 2004 and resides in the San Antonio Villas.  She was a physical education teacher and first came to the United States back in 1989-1990 under a teacher exchange program out in Phoenix, Arizona.

Sue has been involved with sports her whole life as she started out as a field hockey player and played on the Yorkshire state field hockey team.  She changed over from field hockey and picked up the game of golf back in 1994 and worked her way down to a 4 handicap.  She was able to qualify and play on the Yorkshire state golf team and also participated in the Ladies British Amateur and English Ladies Amateur tournaments.

She won the Ladies Club Championship back in 2006 and set out to reclaim her title.  Sue battled head to head with a two time previous Tierra Del Sol Club Champion throughout the event.  She started the tournament with a nice round of 82 and then finished the tournament with an excellent 79 for a 161.  Congratulations on winning the Ladies Club Championship.
