Mary Lou Nowak

Mary Lou Nowak came to The Villages in 2000 and recently moved full-time with her husband, Joe from the Detroit area. They have one daughter who still resides in Michigan. They live in the Village of Palo Alto, near the Tierra del Sol Country Club.

She was involved in golf in Michigan playing out of the Dearborn Country Club and a member of the Women’s District Golf Association of Detroit, one of the largest and oldest women’s golf groups in the country. She also served as President and a member of the board for 8 years.

She volunteered her time to the Golf Association of Michigan, serving as club representative and as a member of the golf course rating committee.

The Tierra Del Sol Club Championship was her first foray into organized golf events in The Villages. The tournament culminated in a three-way sudden death playoff which included two past Club Champions, Maureen McWilliams and Sue Severn.
