SHALLOW CREEK - Maintenance

These are a few common items that we ask our golfers to keep in mind during their round of golf that will keep Shallow Creek looking beautiful!

TURF MANAGEMENT

When driving a golf car on the course, please be mindful of certain areas that you may come across.

o    WET AREAS should be properly marked with signage but in the event there is an area that is not, please avoid them by taking an alternate route. Tire traffic is very damaging to wet turf and can take weeks to repair.

o    WORN TURF AREAS are very common in high traffic patterns, particularly around tees, bunkers, and greens. If you see any area of “thin” turf or bare dirt, please take an alternate route to your destination.

BUNKER CARE

Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints they have made.

o    ENTER THE BUNKER at the lowest point closest to the ball to avoid unnecessary damage to the lip.

o    ON ALL COURSES AT THE VILLAGES, we request that rakes be replaced INSIDE the bunker at 90 degrees to the edge of the bunker.

DIVOT REPAIR

Sand should be used to replace divots taken during a swing.

o    COMPLIMENTARY SAND is available at all Championship and Executive courses.

o    DAMAGE THROUGH PRACTICE SWINGS. Players should never damage the turf during practice swings. All damage to the course during a shot should be repaired to aid speedy recovery.

o    EACH PRIVATE GOLF CAR OWNER should obtain a sand bucket or container for filling divots.

o    TO MAXIMIZE THE USE OF THE GRASS on the driving range tee, please place your ball at the grassy back edge of your previous divot, removing just a small portion of grass with each swing.
