Born in London, Kentucky, I have lived in Sumter County since the age of 2. I attended Florida State University where I graduated with a degree in Business and a major in Professional Golf Course Management. I have been a PGA member since 2004.

Carol Durkin Golf Staff Lead

Hometown:Nyack, New York

Moving here to The Villages in 2009, I am originally from Nyack, NY where I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 39 years. I started with the Golf and Country Club Division in 2011 and have been on the Bonifay staff since it opened in the fall of 2011. I love to play golf, going to Disneyworld and enjoying the whole Villages lifestyle.

Bob Wargo Golf Staff Lead

Hometown: Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania

My wife an dI moved to The Villages in 2013 after workin gin the mining and construction industries for over 40 years.  We have two sons and one grandaughter. I have worked for the golf divission for 5 years as an Ambassador and have also represented Bonifay on the safety committee. I enjoy playing golf and am and avid fan of auto racing.  I look forward to helping everyone
make their time at Bonifay a wonderful experience.

Mark Knoblauch Golf Staff Lead

Born and raised in Southern California, got out quickly compliments of the United States Army and was on the move from then on lucky enough to run into my wonderful bride Kenna, definitely married up, as they say. Was involved in number of businesses that sent me all over the world for significant part of career, mostly in sales and management, landing in Nashville (25 years) as last stop before finding the Villages. As they say, (should have done it years ago). We are both so happy and thankful to be here, then was fortunate enough to get hired at Bonifay. Love our club and all the wonderful people we work with! Tony Tavares Golf Staff Lead

I grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from the University of Lowell with a bachelors degree in music education and performance. I played Trumpet with the New Bedford Symphony for three years. However, I spent my career in the building industry, building houses, selling building materials in Newport, Rhode Island, and finally engineering homes and commercial structures. I retired in 2020 at the beginning of Covid and moved to the Villages with my wife Donna, whom I have been happily married to for thirty years. After enjoying the Villages and my work-free retirement for two years, I needed to do something. I was hired at Evans Prairie as a starter at the executive courses, then moved into the golf shop eight months later. Then in the summer of 2024, I was hired as a staff lead at Bonifay Golf Club. I absolutely love the position, Bonifay, and the staff here. I love helping the staff and the golfing community as they enjoy their experience here at Bonifay and the Villages.
